Helmut Newton. LEGACY. Accessible routes to the exhibition
With the aim of making museums accessible places for everyone and encouraging the participation of the widest number of people in the city's cultural activities, the Sovrintendenza Capitolina is committed to providing even temporary exhibitions with services that meet all people's needs, constantly enhancing accessibility services.
On the occasion of the exhibition Helmut Newton. LEGACY, the Ara Pacis Augustae Museum is providing visitors with specific aids aimed at improving the conditions of physical accessibility and fruition.
Routes for blind and visually impaired visitors
The Museo dell'Ara Pacis provides facilities for the blind and visually impaired public:
- 7 SECTION AUDIODESCRIPTIONS + 12 WORKS OF ART AUDIODESCRIPTIONS accompany the visitor in his or her enjoyment of the exhibition. This audio files, uploaded to Audiopen, are activated by contact with the relief code located in the captions to the selected works. To listen to the audiopen the visitor can use their own earphones or disposable headphones available in the museum. The Audiopen is free of charge and issued on request at the ticket counter presenting an identity card. The museum staff will provide all useful information during the visit.
The audio descriptions, combined with the LIS videos, represent a single integrated product produced by RAI Pubblica Utilità (RAI EASY WEB and Facebook Rai Accessibilità).

The Museo dell'Ara Pacis, in cooperation with Zètema Progetto Cultura, offers a calendar of tactile visits (max 2 people) conducted by a specialised operator. Visits are free of charge. Reservation is required. Information and reservation by calling 0039 060608.

Deaf visitors
- 7 SECTION LIS VIDEOS + 12 WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION LIS VIDEOS guiding the visitor through the exhibition. The LIS videos with subtitles are available free of charge through tablets to be requested at the ticket counter, upon presentation of an ID.
The LIS videos, combined with the audio descriptions, constitute a single integrated product produced by RAI Pubblica Utilità (RAI EASY WEB and Facebook Rai Accessibilità).

The Museo dell'Ara Pacis, in cooperation with the Dipartimento Politiche sociali e Salute (Direzione Servizi alla Persona) and the Cooperativa sociale onlus Segni d’Integrazione Lazio, offers a calendar of guided tours with LIS interpreters.
